Descriptions:

In the tradition of FIELD OF DREAMS, TOUCHBACK is a story about sports, faith, and realizing that everything you need is already in front of you. Facing foreclosure on his home, former high school football star-turned-farmer-and-family-man, Scott Murphy (Brian Presley of BORDERLAND) has found rock bottom. But, after bumping his head, he finds himself with a unique opportunity to revisit his glory days before the Ohio State championship where he permanently injured his knee in a game-winning play. Given a second shot at destiny, Scott seeks his mentor, Coach Hand (Kurt Russell of MIRACLE, DREAMER), to help him decide whether to let his fate unfold or change his future. Also starring Melanie Lynskey (TV’s TWO AND A HALF MEN), Marc Blucas (TV’s NECESSARY ROUGHNESS), Sarah Wright (THE HOUSE BUNNY) and Christine Lahti (TV’s LAW & ORDER: SVU, CHICAGO HOPE).

  1. That is stupid. One black guy that could not catch the ball. really?! Hundreds of white guys tried out for the football team but they pick one black guy that could not catch the ball.

  2. I don’t understand why would you ruin a second chance to be come a rich pro and you blow it like what is wrong with you if I could go back in time and change my injuries i would use it to my full advantage

  3. I struggled through watching this movie. Mainly because of the things Ive been through and the things Im facing right now. Im glad I watched it until the end. Powerful message .

  4. Did anyone else cry watching this movie??? Made me appreciate my life so much more. Especially how lucky I am to have my wife. I never want to take her for granted again. Love you Deanna. If I had it to do all over again I would choose you 1000 times over inspite of our ups and downs.

  5. Outstanding performance by Mr. Presley, who was actually a state champion quarterback. Football scenes are excellent because of his play.

  6. incredible movie! How many would choose what they have over the chance at what they do not! gratitude and contentment are Gods gifts to us. Seek them, embrace them, help others you like or don't, those you agree with or don't. Giving is far better than getting. God bless

  7. Beautiful movie… Fucking beautiful. The message is everything. If youre reading the comments before watching. Watch it. Watch it. Watch it….. It will change youre life and perspective. Everything happens for a reason, Much love.

  8. IMO, good faith does not always have to be ego-free. If that were the case, then it would have been over 2000 years since the world experienced a true humanitarian or philanthropist.

  9. Getting "redos" in this life is almost as nice of a thought as being among the angels. Whatever it turns out to be, once our energy and matter returns to the universe, I'm sure it will be even greater. We have plenty to do in this life while we are here, if only we accept it.

  10. It's actually not very difficult to find help right now and break up the pattern right now. Perhaps you should choose a terrifyingly wonderful; psychology-backed technique such as Zeke Vikalen’s website? (Try googs).

  11. Well my favorite movie it’s a wonderful life seems like this is the brand new version of it now this is my second favorite movie of all time

  12. I can’t understand how over 400 people say that they don’t love this movie. It makes me realize that I have a wonderful wife like Scott’s Macy!!! She has a depth of beauty that transcends the physical. Macy was the best choice!!!

  13. I’m so happy the Community came together to help this family at the end ….. I’m a believer that there’s still Good People out there that come together too Help their neighbor’s😀❤️❤️💜❤️💜❤️❤️

  14. This was a wonderful movie. There are so many amazing powerful movies out there that people do not see because they are not in the theaters etc. Thank you You Tube. Great stuff! All star cast also Kurt Russell is one of my favorites too. Well done everyone

  15. This is an amazing movie. It opens your eyes to what is really important in life. Even when your down on your luck, there is always hope , never give up..keep faith in God, he will guide you through everything..no matter how tough things get..😊

  16. Jesus Christ is Lord and is our way to the Father he died for our sins saving us from Hell and rose to life on the 3rd day Jesus paid it all on the cross he's our only hope anyone who's an athiest and unbeliever God loves you so much he sent his son to die for you as well Hell is very real please humble yourself, repent, and accept the gift of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ also no other god or religion saves but Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) alone he said it himself he's the way, truth, and life no man comes unto the Father except by him please take my message seriously because we are in the end times and Jesus is coming soon seek him while he may be found God bless

  17. Who was the individual that made a request to call. I lost your post. Please repost so I may follow up. Also in regards to my yesterday's post in regards to the movie it's a good movie and I just love Kurt Russell he's a good actor.

  18. yeahNO. @31:26 Your own teammate is not going to slaughter your QB, the Player of The Year, in practice especially before the title game. Totally unbelievable. I'd make the jerk do windsprints until he heaved if I was coach.
Bottom what a dumbass Murphy is. Totally frustrating movie.

  19. Stumbled across this movie and thought why not. Now I’m glad I did. I was thinking just like this guy and it really hit home great movie. Try not to dwell on the past. God is great and has plan for everyone. Have a blessed day.

  20. I have always loved Kurt Russell!!!
Never knew about this movie until my daughter shared it with me…
This is such an inspiring, uplifting and emotional movie…
    being single,
I raised all 5 of my children in small town rural America and all of my children have grown and chosen to stay country…~none choosing city or big money…
    Life is a struggle… period…
    I choose God… and my family…
    Till death do we part💕
    Life is good…

  21. I lived that story. State champion wrestler? Football scholarship? Nope, two broken legs as a freshman from a MC accident. Ended every bit of those dreams. I"m 51 now. It's taken me this long, to realize that everything really does happen for a reason. A lot came my way, that never would have, if I hadn't gotten hurt. I've been blessed in my life with people who love me, and I know exactly who those people are. I hope that they know me, the real me. This movie hit me hard, I mean, the message and the story is me. It also tells me, that I'm not the only one whose life and future changed in the blink of an eye. I'm not alone, and it might not seem proper to say, but I'm glad of that somehow. God bless you all.

  22. I played football in high school and this film really made me miss it. My dad first introduced me to the sport when I was a kid and I loved it from then on. High school is when I had the greatest time ever. Our coach was strict and tough on us but it truly paid off in the end. Me and my teammates were all like brothers. We trained together, played together, won together, lost together. We worked together to make each other stronger (physically and mentally) and had each other’s backs. Not just in the game but outside as well. We always walked everywhere in a group, wearing our varsity jackets with pride. I always made sure to keep my grades up because I just had to stay on my team. Football was a big part of my life and so were my brothers. It was my family where I belonged. Guys can make some of the greatest friends through football. I cherish the sport and the memories every day! 👊🏈

  23. Wow! Awesome movie! Especially enjoyed without commercials! Movie description isn't totally accurate, but if it were, there'd have to be a spoiler alert! I love movies like this!❤

  24. Moral of the story, the rich get richer as the poor suffer. On top of everything the rich/corporate powers pay no taxes. I have found the more poor the person is the more decent human they are. The super rich do nothing for humanity caring nothing except for themselves.

  25. This movie will tug hard on your heartstrings and bring you to tears of joy. Absolutely beautiful movie that I happened to catch on my feed. Never even heard of this movie, but so glad I saw it and chose to see it. Thank you, YouTube algorithm. Thank you!!!

  26. Well well! I know this is a true story. Has he figured out he’s a peasant yet? What money is? What his bank is really there for? Amazing people still worship people who are “born with a silver spoon in their mouths”! Bowing down and worshiping the people who enslave them!! Too easy to brainwash people! Worldwide, this is true. All those laws that protect our rights came from people who broke the law and mobbed in the streets protesting and threatening violence in large numbers that FORCED the “leaders” to make laws like the 40 hour work week. And all the REAL freedoms we have. Never trust ANY bank!!! They are all the same! Value is the plants he is growing. Zero value is the money. The bank is the criminal. Yet he will be the one being arrested! Present day the truckers are protesting. They should AT LEAST be compensated for what they do! Sad that the good farmer and his wife here haven’t figured it out… Humans really need something or someone to come here and by superior technology or whatever- billions of years ahead of us technology—- paralyze the banks and Oligarchs and free the people… Because humans don’t seem to be able to even comprehend what position they are in! Obey? Or question everything? Born into captivity domesticated humans is what we are today! Congratulations!! U actually voted for someone WORSE than Trump who wants to murder Julian Assange! And according to what I see on Twitter- everyone WANTS censorship! And u will GET IT!! And it will backfire like it always has in the past! Blood will be spilled AGAIN!! No one wants freedom of speech! They actually think they can make facts whatever they want the facts to be… Truth about anything is very difficult to find…

  27. I have a feeling this will be a propaganda movie how with faith and hard work he overcame and paid back the bank!
Billionaires ruin families like this EVERYWHERE and u just keep worshiping them and voting for them! And all believe the government gets its money from your taxes.

  28. Crap! That was a LONG memory of his football past before he ended up the failing farmer! I KNOW it’s the bank failing HIM! And they are the criminals that SHOULD be in jail and have THEIR property in foreclosure. But it will never happen. Because they control the lies we are taught as children and the news media we listen to as adults. We used to have the internet but because of Trump we no longer have it!!! Now to see how this ends.
Now that’s impressive! Very popular guy with the whole neighborhood out there picking the crops for him when they know he can’t pay them… They are all in violation of the social distancing rules!! In real life today they would all just get arrested by the police and demonized in the news!!!
    A propaganda movie

  29. Good movie and great acting by all. It was nice to see Kurt Russell. Scott the star football player in this small town was talking to his coach who gave him advice to live by: "Do you know what the future is, Scott? The future is just a bunch of what you do right now strung together." So Scott had to rethink his priorities. I think you will enjoy this wonderful story.

  30. I use to really love playing football when I was in school. But I have never once enjoyed watching a game. So I'm not into sports movies. And wasn't sure about this movie. But I'm so glad I decided to watch it. This is a wonderful movie and the song score is a good one for sure . WOW what a great movie about life . Getting hit hard in life, and the times you get back up , overcome the circumstances and continue on .

  31. FUN PART WHEN HE IS RETURNED BEFORE BIG STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME…HE SEES HIS WIFE TO BE…SKINNY DIPPING…HER GIRLFRIEND SAYS…" WHAT ARE YOU…THE SWIMMING POLICE???" HAHAHAHAHAHA…LIKE 180° FLIP FROM HOW HE REALLY WAS BACK THEN…& TRYING TO GAS HISSELF IN HIS OLD TRUCK…13: MINUTES IN…2 WEEKS & WHAT KIND OF UNCARING BANK IS THIS IN A SMALL TOWN FULL OF FARMS…HUGE SCREW UP ON THE BANKS PART…MONEY LOSS BY POSSESING THE FARM THEN GO TO AUCTION FOR 20c ON THE DOLLAR…CROQ OF 💩👈

  32. IT MADE RAIN ON MY FACE WHEN HE RAN OUTTA GAS & GOT A SECOND CHANCE…ESPECIALLY WITH THE TOWN HELPING OUT GET THEM SOYBEANS IN…I STAYED A FEW MONTHS IN IOWA…TOO MANY FARMS ARE SOLD OUT TO GMO LIES FROM MONSANTO…(Lie #1; MORE YIELD…in number yeah but by food value and crop individual size…way smaller…FOOD VALUE IS LOST CAUSING ILLNESS…STOP USING ALUMINUM ANTI PERSPERANTS!!! ALZHEIMERS COMES FROM ALUMINUM…IT POISONS THE GUT!!!

  33. 😊I believe we all have been in Scott Murphy's shoes. Would we change our lives for something we think would be better? I am 73 years old. I was a combat Marine in Vietnam and was awarded three purple hearts. After coming home, I fell in love with a pretty girl that I am still married to almost 50 years later. The only thing I would change in my life is I would have given my heart to Jesus Christ a lot sooner. This was a great movie and I believe everyone would get something out of watching it. This is a feel-good movie and brought a tear to my eyes at the end. Great acting and Kurt Russell fitted his part. 👍

    • We can be sure that this is NOT real life.

    💚💚💚

  35. Kind of a funny story: I stopped at a house south of Coopersville to ask about an old Dodge M37 military truck sitting in the yard. It wasn't for sale, but the owner told me the house had been used for the filming of Touchback. I wasn't familiar with the movie, and didn't see it until a few minutes ago, but sure enough, the farm I stopped at was Scott's family home in the movie. Very cool!

  36. Great movie! I like movies about football! But since I went to Notre Dame and was in the same class as Rudy, I have to say that “Rudy” is still my favorite football movie (followed by “Knute Rockne, All American”). It’s interesting how in the early part of his dream when he’s looking at his Offer Letters, he picks up a book about Notre Dame football and starts thumbing through it.

  37. Oh sheesh, get real! That soybean field would have taken 6 months to be hand picked. And there would have been a combine sitting in every farmer’s machine shed that could have been used. This sappy unrealistic portrayal of harvesting just encourages ignorance of actual farm life.👎🏻

  38. While I love this movie, I think it could have been that much better if they were able to have younger actors/actresses for the high school parts. It really threw me off haha

  39. This is a great movie, and it really does ask a question…if you could actually change your life, would you really want to ? Your life is likely better than you think it is, and has probably affected more people than you realize.

  40. Yea, well he had his children and a wife, that’s life. As someone that has never had anyone in his life to love life is far worse living in your own grave knowing there is nothing in this world that will ever be with you. Live you life while you have one. Don’t be a walking dead man like me with a soul that’s dammed to burn forever.

  41. I thought it was going to be cliche sports movie. Was I ever wrong. Great movie. It was like you were living there throughout the entire movie. Great acting…great story.
    God wins, run to Jesus.

  42. Dude's fuckin crazy I would have passed the ball, went to college then went to the NFL. Ain't no way in the world am I going back to that shitty life if I had a second chance.

  43. Really good movie. All of us have those dreams where we are back in high school playing a sport or doing something that we gave up and regretted it. That's life though be happy with the one you got cuz you wouldn't change it either if you had the chance.

  44. I hate to throw water on a great movie like this, but I don’t see this as anything but a fairy tale. Football hero, great future, gets hurt. Life seems hopeless and then the people of the town step up and save the day for him. Such a wonderful ending. He loves and appreciates his wife and family more. Starts coaching and has a bright future ahead.
Nothing like this happens in real life. I have diabetes, I am 62, I am still working at a job that doesn’t even pay the bills each month. I did some financial planning and discovered that after I retire, I can live comfortably for 11 minutes. All of my children still live at home. None of them have the tools to make it in life. I know it’s my fault but the youngest is now 23 so I failed there. No one is going to jump in and save the day.
I loved the movie. I just hate that reality that I have built for myself!

  45. What fun it was to be an extra in this film! Hope to do it again! If you squint your eyes you may see me in the stands in one of the many action sequences.

  49. Watching the montage where he's back in pads for the first time was so amazing to watch. Everybody is all confused like yeah bro we do this all the time and he's just happy to be back. I can say that leaving this game, leaving your brothers is absolutely heartbreaking and even saying good bye to the seniors had me in tears. But that final – and i mean final- game is always the hardest and I would love to be able to step back on the field with my boys again so I more than understand what he was going through then.

  50. The dumbest town on the planet… I know this because there isn't a high school student in this under the age of 30.

  51. It always bugs me when sports movies get the rules wrong, after a kickoff there is no need to call a timeout, the clock stops after all changes of posession

  52. Whoever produced this movie is racist the whole town is white and the team only had one black dude who couldn't catch no body can't tell me that's some racist stuff

  53. Hmmm🤔 I've seen this movie a couple of years ago and now just now figuring out that what he did for her n the band in high school, she did it for him/them now🤦🏽‍♂️ I could be wrong But 🤷🏽‍♂️😁

  54. marked as a family movie…WTF!!!! A Father tries to commit suicide is NOT CONSIDERED A FAMILY MOVIE to any parent with even half a brain!!!!!!

  55. When me and my dad first saw this we didn’t understand why he didn’t redo everything but from watching it again I understand as a man now and not as a student athlete

  56. 1:15:19 how does the production/film crew miss the 2002+ dodge ram that drives right across the screen in a film that is supposed to be set in Nov of 1991 or at 1:17:46 maybe if we put 7 or 8 muscle cars from the 70's nobody will notice the 50 newer cars on the screen. I know I shouldn't care but come on!!

  57. Excuse my confusion but why at the 1:42 time of the movie showed Murphy and his team mate #81 with the opposing team's uniform and playing at daytime? Thanks in advance.

  58. Great movie and I get the point of the story, I just dont understand why he couldnt have changed the outcome of the game; and still married the girl he wanted too. since he was just changing his life story. Dont you wish you could go back in time and change things.

  59. Have never wanted to watch this movie .. not a sports fan … it’s not about sports .. it’s about SUPPORT … from community! That’s what the world lacks more then ever in 2022 .. we need to REUNITE one nation under God 🙏💕

  60. What a beautiful story. I swear, Brian Presley and Stephen Amell look so much alike as if they were brothers. I thought for a second that it was Stephen Amell. But dang, this movie was something special. I had a mom just like Scott's who would work late nights. She would work from 2pm to 2am. What an amazing story this was. I like movies like this one. Definitely worth a watch. In fact, I'm gonna tell my sister to watch after she gets home from work.

  61. I'm only at the fireside part of the movie, after the skinny dipping. I'm living a great life at 69 years of age. The only thing I'd change under these circumstances is that I'd do all the things I enjoyed again – I'd spend more time with my Family and Friends. Maybe I'd do a few things more often, and perhaps experience things I hadn't. I'm learning a few things about Life, and mySelf at this moment.
I think I'll watch the rest of the movie, and play my piano afterwards. But first I'm going for lunch at Ye Olde Towne Cafe, Leonardtown, Maryland – this small Town.
    I like this.

    THE END
I can only add one thing to this wonderful story…
    Macy is beautiful.

  62. I can relate to this movie in that I lived in a small town like this one and couldn’t wait to get out of there. I did and I would give anything to go back in time and change my decisions. The term watch what you wish for is so true. Most small towns are like “Coldwater” your friends and neighbors will be there for you through good times and bad.

  63. I'm gonna be that guy. I understand the messages in the movie but I guarantee there was probably like 100 ways he could have won state, played for Ohio State, and still married Macy.
    1. he didn't have to be arrogant about living a better life and shitting on her life style.
    2. win the game by throwing it then try to date and marry her for the rest of your time.
    3. you can still try and win the game but if you lose by not running you still go to Ohio State. They won't decline you if you lose State they literally asked you not to play. So you lose State and can still go to college.
    4. Either you win or lose the championship you dump your gf and date Macy because she was obviously interested without even knowing you are gonna get injured.
    5. If you didn't change the outcome of the game and still married and everything he should just honestly start by making more sound financial decisions.
    6. Pick up on a major moral in the movie and stop being self defeating. He let life beat him up. After the injury we could understand better his attitude towards adversity. How he'd react to problems. He could have had just as hard of a life going to Ohio State and trying to date Macy but been better off there.

I know appreciate what you have. Don't regret but live and work with what you have. But hey if that were me I'd be in the Nfl and dating Macy.

  64. I just wish him and his mother had a better relationship because you see the he really wants to do everything for his mother and wants her always there. I know she loves him but you can see it and feel the relationship he wants with his mother touches the heart

  65. Geez what a dweeb that guy for running, (knowing he was going to be crippled) instead of throwing to an open man in the end zone. Hey, anyone who plays football, don't be "inspired" by such bad football and self-destructive behavior.

  66. I LOVED THIS STORY and the actors who portrayed all of it! GOD is ever faithful and I'm so blessed He's my Father, my strength, my everything which was such a big part of this "story!" THANK YOU for a story that blessed me so much!
